Our goal is to be the leading voice of business in the region.
 
Our Strategies include:

  • Being recognized as business leaders
  • Being proactive and informed
  • Taking a firm stand on all relevant issues
  • Recruiting a pool of recognized business leaders and members to consult on issues

Our Action Plan is to:

  • Publish a quarterly newsletter
  • Broadcast-fax news flashes
  • Create a government affairs committee
  • Open communications with elected representatives
  • Keep the media informed of the contact person with our chamber
  • Appoint representatives for the APCC and NBCC

Membership

Our goal is to maximize membership and to sustain all Chamber activities.
 
Our Strategies include:

  • Maximizing membership involvement
  • Improving membership retention
  • Having more network opportunities for members
  • Extending membership benefits and services
  • Focusing on committee structures

Our Action Plan is to:

  • Appoint a membership committee
  • Participate in the Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance Plan
  • Hold Lunch & Learn meetings
  • Create a mentor system
  • Invite Sectors to sit on their committees
  • Enhance the awards program

Economic Growth

Our goal is to be a positive influence on the economic development of the district.
 
Our Strategies include:

  • Developing a greater relationship with existing Economic Development Agencies
  • Raising our community profile

Our Action Plan is to:

  • Identify all existing agencies
  • Identify opportunities for economic growth
  • Further improve our relationship with the Kings County Economic Development Officer
  • Create more channels of communication to further realize the needs of the business community in regards to Economic Development
  • Assure that municipal representatives are held more accountable

Leadership

Our goal is to create a stronger Chamber, by strengthening our voice at all levels
 
Our Strategies include:

  • Working on further insuring a strong succession plan
  • Increasing the Chamber visibility to a greater extent

Further utilizing the experience and influence of our past presidents
 
Our Action Plan is to:

  • Assure the continued presence of a Nominating Committee
  • Raise the profile of committee chairs
  • Continue to implement our strategic development plan
  • Assure the continued profile of our plan, by marketing it through local media, municipal governments, and the Membership
  • Further the development of a Public relations committee

Communications

Our goals include further increasing communications, both internally and externally
 
Our Strategies include:

  • Further developing a comprehensive avenue of communication with the Membership
  • Open more channels of communication with both the community stakeholders and all levels of government
  • Create a greater relationship with the media

Our Action Plan is to:

  • Continue to fax flash as required
  • Circulate, so as to further develop, our strategic plan
  • Assure the continued success of our E-mail Address Book
  • Review the appointment of a liaison to deal with stakeholder groups (Service Clubs)
  • Further develop our comprehensive media list
  • Increase our use of the APCC and NBCC as resources
